Feeling your way to the Sweet Spot

Recently, I attended an Abraham-Hicks Law of Attraction workshop on the West Coast. While visiting, a gregarious and lovely friend introduced me to a major league baseball player. Awesome! Regular readers of the INspired Action Journal know that I am a great appreciator of athletes. I enjoy practicing yoga, golf and swimming, and I am married to a Marathon runner. But, like many Americans, I adore major league baseball. Go Yankees!

So, what a treat it was for me to chat with this super nice, energetic guy. At one point, I confessed my trials and tribulations with hitting the softball. When I step up to the plate, swing at the ball and make contact, I feel an uncomfortable vibration up my arms, spine and through my body. In a cartoon version, I would look like Bugs Bunny or Wiley Coyote hitting a ball and his whole body reverberating from it. Zzziiinnnng!

Anyway, without missing a beat, my new friend, said “That’s because you haven’t hit the sweet spot.”

The Sweet Spot.

That makes sense. That’s the place where you have all the elements line up. The intention, the focus, the positive expectation, and the incremental accumulation of physical evidence … and there you are. You… savor the Sweet Spot in the moment.

Yes, of course! The Sweet Spot. I know that sound. I know that feeling: in the tennis swing, in lap swimming and in singing and performing. Yes, I know that Sweet Spot: in addressing the little white ball, in the writing of these Journals, in appreciating a wonderful friend, in choosing to feel SO in-love-with myself and with everybody on the Planet.

I LIKE it. How about you?

We all know how the Sweet Spot feels. We all know intuitively how to get there.

Sometimes, it just takes a new friend to clarify and inspire us, yet again.
